An official at Marymount California University contends she was put on administrative leave because she denied the advances of the former school president, and she has filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment.
The woman, who is the school’s chief financial officer, filed her suit two weeks after a female associate dean filed a similar lawsuit.
The former president unexpectedly left his job at the college in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, in February. Before his departure, he often tried to kiss the woman, made inappropriate comments and retaliated when she refused him, she said. She added that he often made remarks about her appearance and attempted to touch her breasts.
The lawsuit names both the former and current presidents in the lawsuit.
The court filing goes into great detail about the president and his alleged actions. The woman said she had to discredit reports they were romantically involved as rumors spread, had to endure him trying to imply they were a couple at a dinner with co-workers and had to deal with him visiting her home without notice and trying to lie down next to her.
Additionally, she contends in her lawsuit that he required her to make an overnight trip on behalf of the school, and when they arrived there, she found out they were supposed to share a room to save money for the school.
He also allegedly told others he was in love with her.
